Amateru is an IAU name for an exoplanet. Its host star is Ain in the constellation of Taurus. Suggested by the country of Japan, it follows the name theme NEWC 2015

Etymology and History

"Amateru" is a common Japanese appellation for shrines when they enshrine Amaterasu, the Shinto goddess of the Sun, born from the left eye of the god Izanagi. (Note 2)
